I'm thrilled that I now have a choice to buy a fair trade soccer ball (along with an increasing number of other items from Fair Trade Sports). My 13 year-old opened it for Christmas and loved it. We did have one minor glitch, though. When we inflated it, the ball was lopsided. I immediately emailed customer service. We received a very rapid response from no less than the company founder who explaied that we needed to deflate the ball, massage it for a minute, and then re-inflate it. Apparently, there was a fold in the eco-rubber air bladder. Now it works fine and we are delighted.

Finally, a soccer ball that is not only beautiful and functional, but also supports fair trade. It may cost more than a mass-manufactured ball, but the difference is nominal when you consider the larger impact. I'd much rather spend a few more dollars and support a fair trade company instead of one that would make these balls in a sweatshop that exploits kids my nephew's age just because it can. Plus my nephew enjoys the compliments he gets on his snazzy soccer ball.

I really appreciate the initiative and the idea behind this product! I convinced my Over 30 mens soccer team to try it out because it would make us all feel good to support a worthy cause. We did feel good about the cause, but not so much about the quality of the ball, I'm afraid... Compared to other conventionally produced balls in this price range this one is a little too hard, the patches a little too stiff, and it is still a little lopsided, despite giving it time to settle. I think it might be good for kids but not for people who have played a lifetime. I hate to be THAT guy, because I do support Fair Trade, but I think it is important to address the quality issue to compete with conventional products on a level playing field (pardon the pun...)

I was looking for a soccer ball that was friendly to humanity and the environment, and this was perfect. It's made by adults earning a fair wage, and the message is a good one. I gave this as a gift to my nephew, and he loves it.

I am so glad I found a place to buy fair trade soccer balls and other sports equipment online. I am very happy with my order - the ball is 100% what I expected, and even more beautiful when you can actually see it. I love the orange world map, and the many languages on the ball, and I'm much happier using it knowing it was produced ethically.
