This is a really nice basketball.....just goes to show that you don't need to use animal products to make quality sports equiptment....or quaity anything for that matter. I'm vegan so it's really great to be able to buy something like this. Thanks so much!

 great concept, but deflation problemJun 01, 2009
I bought this item because my entire family is very eco-conscious and I love the fact that it's both certified fair trade and eco-friendly. However, I have found that this basketball gets quickly deflated after minimal use. Perhaps there is a defect in the particicular ball I received but it does not seem to be of the same durability/quality standard as other basketballs. Since none of my family members play basketball religiously and don't depend on this ball for routine use (and we don't mind pumping it whenever needed) it serves our needs. However, someone who plays frequently and is looking to purchase this basketabll may want to take this into consideration.
